Taylor Swift Billboard magazine

Hello, today I will be analysing a billboard magazine issue from October 2012. In this issue Taylor Swift is seen holding a guitar on the front cover. This cover is interesting as it uses five main colour instead of three which is usually what magazines use. These colours are red, yellow, blue, white and black. These colours are interesting as they are the primary colours, meaning they stand out and lure the buyer in. The use of black is typical as it is representative for most magazines as it stands out most to the eye. Interestingly, the makers o this magazine have dressed Taylor Swift to fit the colour scheme. This is evident due to her royal blue trousers and her top is plain white, not only that put she wears a bright red lipstick too. There are two shades of blue used in this cover of the magazine - although it is not that noticeable. This makes the text used down the left hand side of the front cover stand out to the reader a lot more and make him/her want to read the article.

Although the use of five colours is different, I personally will stick to the typical magazine tradition and use three and maybe four colours. Alternatively, the colours used here are good and would attract an audience to buy the magazine, for the type of music the magazine entails. I will use pastel colours in my magazine instead of the bright colours used here. The colours i was thinking of using are a light yellow and light blue, with white and a darker colour like the darker blue used here. As inspiration from this magazine I will be using the idea of matching the model with the colour scheme by wearing a white top and some pale blue jeans.

Similarly to the magazine I analyse with Q, Taylor holds an acoustic guitar. The way she is positioned is very interesting compared to the way ed way positioned as we can see all of Taylor and not just the top half like Ed Sheeran. The acoustic guitar is interesting as it portrays Taylor and the music she performs as acoustic guitars are associated with acoustic/pop music - hence the name. 

I will position my model like Taylor so that I can see all of her body but i will sit her down on a chair or on a tree trunk. I will also use the prop of a guitar and make my model casually hold onto the acoustic guitar.
